§ 18-1.1. Adoption of Manual on Uniform Traffic-Control Devices.

  • (a)

    "Traffic-control devices" defined. "Traffic-control devices" shall mean all signs, signals, markings and devices placed on or adjacent to a street or highway to regulate, warn, or guide traffic.

    (b)

    "Manual" defined. "Manual" shall mean the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways as published and amended by the United States Department of Transportation.

    (c)

    Installation of traffic-control devices. Traffic-control devices within the city shall be installed in conformance with the rules and regulations as set forth in the manual.

    (d)

    Administration of provisions. The city manager of the city is hereby designated as that employee who shall have the duty and responsibility to see that the installation of all traffic-control devices is installed in conformance with said manual.

Editor's note

Section 6 of Ord. No. 73-154 provided that said ordinance be included in this Code, but did not specify the manner of codification, hence inclusion of §§ 1—4 herein as § 18-1.1 was at the discretion of the editor.
