§ 18-1. Adoption of Florida Uniform Traffic Law.
The Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law, Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, 1991, as amended from time to time, is hereby adopted in its entirety. Said Chapter 316, as amended from time to time, shall be in full force and effect in the regulation of traffic throughout the city.

Ch. 316, Florida statutes, specifically reserves to municipalities within the reasonable exercise of their police powers: Stopping, standing and parking; regulation of traffic by officers or control devices; regulating processions or assemblages on highways; one-way highways; through and stop streets; restricting the use of streets; establishing speed limits; regulating pedestrian traffic; certain authority reserved as to "hot pursuit"; power of arrest at scene of an accident. Approval of the state is required as to control devices on state highways. Municipalities vested with jurisdiction of the trial and adjudication of all violations of Ch. 316 within the municipality.
