§ 4.09. Oath of office.
All elective officers, before starting their duties shall take and subscribe to the following oath of office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and of the Charter of the City of Coral Springs; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the state and the Charter of the City of Coral Springs and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties for _______ upon which I am now about to enter. So help me God."
If any elective officer fails to qualify for office within thirty (30) days after election, the office shall be declared vacant and a successor appointed as this act provides. If any elective officer through illness or unavoidable absence cannot be present to take the oath of office the Commission may by a majority vote extend for a reasonable period of time within which the elective officer shall take office.
