Chapter 21. CABLE SYSTEMS AND OPEN VIDEO SYSTEMS |
Article II. CONSUMER PROTECTION; PRESERVATION OF COMPETITION |
§ 21-12. General.
(1)
Each franchisee must satisfy. Each cable franchisee must satisfy cable consumer protection standards established by the city from time to time by ordinance or by resolution. In addition, each franchisee shall at all times satisfy any additional or stricter requirements established by applicable law including, without limitation, FCC customer service standards and consumer protection laws.
(2)
Application to open video systems. The customer service standards set forth in sections 21-13 and 21-14 do not apply to open video systems. A person providing cable service via an open video system, or a cable operator that enters into an agreement to comply with the customer service standards applicable to cable systems may be certified by the city as "Consumer Friendly - City of Coral Springs" if the city manager determines that the person is complying with the requirements. The certification may be revoked by the city manager for failure to comply with the standards, or if the city manager is unable to determine whether the person is in compliance.
