§ 5.01. Appointment; salary; bond; acting City Manager.

  • The City Commission shall appoint a City Manager who shall be the administrative head of government under the direction and supervision of the City Commission, and who shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Commission. If the City Manager's position shall become vacant due to removal from office, resignation, or death, the City Commission shall appoint, within three (3) business days of the vacancy and by a majority vote, an acting City Manager, who shall not be a member of the City Commission, to serve until a City Manager is appointed. When a City Manager is appointed, the City Commission shall fix the salary and bond of the City Manager; the premium for such bond to be paid by the City.
