§ 7-200. Fire hydrant flow tests.
(a)
Upon the request of any person or company, with the concurrence of the fire chief, the fire inspection division shall conduct a hydrant flow test.
(b)
Any individual or company requesting such a hydrant flow test shall pay to the city a fee of one hundred seventy-four dollars ($174.00) per hydrant.
(c)
After payment of the above fee, and after the hydrant flow test has been completed, the fire inspection division shall forward a written report to the individual or company who requested said test within a reasonable time after completion thereof. Said written report shall include the following information:
(1)
Static pressure.
(2)
Residual pressure.
(3)
Pitot reading.
(4)
Gallons per minute.
(d)
Fire hydrants shall be serviced by at least an eight-inch main. If an eight-inch main is not provided, all hydrants must provide one thousand (1,000) GPM at twenty (20) psi for one (1) hour for one-story and two-story family dwellings. The minimum fire flow and duration for buildings other than one and two-story family dwellings shall be in accordance with Table H.5.1: Minimum Required Fire Flow and Flow Duration for Buildings, NFPA, Uniform Fire Code, Florida 2010 edition, as amended from time to time.
(e)
Fire hydrants shall be located at the main entrance to any development and every five hundred (500) feet thereafter for one- and two-story family dwellings and every three hundred (300) feet thereafter for all other buildings.
