§ 7-10. Intent of code.
It is the intent of this code to prescribe regulations consistent with nationally recognized good practice for the safe-guarding to a reasonable degree of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises. Compliance with standards of the American Insurance Association or the National Fire Protection Association or other approved nationally recognized safety standards shall be deemed to be prima facie evidence of compliance with this intent.
