§ 4-23. Harboring of stray animals.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to harbor any stray animal unless he or she has notified the city police and/or Broward County Animal Control within forty-eight (48) hours of the presence of the stray animal. Upon receiving such notification, the city's humane officer or an agent thereof may take such animal and place it in the animal retention facility. Refusal to surrender any such stray animal upon request of the humane officer shall be deemed a violation of the section.
