§ 4-21. Possession of wildlife hybrids prohibited.
(a)
It shall be unlawful to own, harbor, keep, transport, sell, or breed any wildlife hybrid of the family canis or felis or breed any wildlife with a dog or cat.
(b)
This prohibition shall not apply to such animals that were in the city prior to passage of this chapter. However, any person in possession of such animal as described within must possess a current permit issued by the State of Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission. Furthermore, any person in possession of such animal must strictly adhere to housing and confinement of such animal so as not to cause a threat to the community.
(c)
All wildlife hybrids not exempt from the provisions of this section shall be deemed as contraband at which time the owner shall be instructed to remove such animal to a person not within the city limits of Coral Springs possessing a state permit or to Broward County Animal Control for the purpose of disposal.
