§ 4-10. Animal bites; quarantine.
(a)
Any dog or other animal reported to have bitten any person or is suspected of having or showing suspicious symptoms of rabies, shall be captured and confined for observation at the owner's expense for a period of ten (10) calendar days from the date of the bite. Home confinement of a dog or any other animal required to be confined for observation shall be allowed upon approval of the City of Coral Springs Humane Unit and upon proof of a current rabies vaccination and current license. Upon failure to adequately confine any dog or other animal suspect of biting during the quarantine period shall result in the following:
(1)
The owner of such animal shall relinquish possession of the animal.
(2)
The animal will be placed, at the owners expense, at an appropriate facility for the remainder of the quarantine.
(b)
It shall be a violation of this section for any person to remove from any place of confinement any animal which has been placed under quarantine.
