§ 2-4. Same—Clerk designated custodian, duties.

  • The city clerk shall be the custodian of the public records of the city. Any public record coming into the possession of any officer, official, employee, agent or servant of the city, shall be filed with the city clerk within seventy-two (72) hours of receipt or if the same falls upon a day that the city hall is not open for conduct of municipal business, then by noon of the first ensuing business day. All public records received by the city clerk shall have placed thereon an appropriate designation as to the time and date of receipt. Duplicates of any instruments or records of which the city clerk has the original, need not be filed with the city clerk.
