§ 16-12. Obstruction of public rights-of-way.

  • (a)

    Obstruction prohibited. Without specific written municipal approval, no person shall build, construct or in any way deposit in or upon any public right-of-way, any obstacle which impedes traffic and thereby creates a traffic hazard.

    (b)

    Exceptions.

    (1)

    When the safety of the citizens of Coral Springs would best be served by the obstruction, closing or enclosing of the entirety of any public right-of-way or any portion thereof of the City of Coral Springs, the person responsible for such an action shall obtain an authorizing resolution from the city commission.

    (2)

    In an emergency situation where a condition dangerous to the public health, safety or welfare exists, the city manager is hereby directed to close any public right-of-way or take whatever emergency action as may be necessary, pending city commission review of continuation.
